The AM-2 is a versatile, inexpensive, yet easy to use tool for the laboratory. When you need to know what’s happening in your set-up, but can’t always have your eyes on the computer screen or oscilloscope, the AM-2 allows your ears to hear what is happening.
The AM-2 has two basic modes of operation.
Amplitude or Click:
This can be used to listen for events or spikes. The squelch control allows you to cut out background noise.
Frequency or Tone:
Gives an audible tone that varies in frequency corresponding to the input voltage level. This mode is useful for detecting a membrane potential when your electrode enters the cell.
